Aberdeen Street Social

Aberdeen Street Social

Aberdeen Street Social is the third collaboration in Hong Kong between Michelin-star Chef Jason Atherton and entrepreneur Yenn Wong, founder of the JIA group. It is set within PMQ which is located at SoHo in Central and Sheung Wan, an area representing the interchange of traditional culture, heritage, art, design and innovation.

PMQ is an historic building and all-round venue for new experiences of shopping, dining, and inspiration, and will stand out as a landmark of Hong Kong’s creative ecology.

Designed by the award-winning Neri & Hu, Aberdeen Street Social is a bright and airy 2 storey venue in a prime spot at PMQ with outdoor terraces on both floors and a garden terrace around the property. The upper floor houses a contemporary open restaurant, private room, and a balcony overlooking the garden below.

“We decided to rejuvenate the convivial spirit within the ancillary building of what was once the Junior Police clubhouse in the PMQ complex, by creating an ambient atmosphere to encourage creative minds to gather and interact with each other.”

The ground floor features a casual open restaurant with a bar and a space that opens up to an outdoor dining with front terrace which spills out to landscaped gardens. It also features a retail counter selling fresh bakeries and desserts.

The lower floor space is surrounded by exquisite metal shelves and wire mesh mimicking a laboratory showcasing some of the freshest ingredients. The floor above will have a completely different vibe having an intentional bespoke feel combine with a bronze metal structural system, perforated bronze metal screens, weathered oak, green tinted glass, beautiful wallpaper and various custom light fittings.

With Jason Atherton as Culinary Director, Aberdeen Street Social will offer modern British cuisine using the best quality farm-to-table sustainable ingredients, great service and a ‘social’ atmosphere.
