Parachilna | Denglong Family

“Denglong” is the Chinese term for a lantern, and translated directly means “light cage”. Used traditionally to demarcate the entry of a house, the lantern has particular significance in the Chinese culture as a symbol for the home and family. Neri&Hu’s design reinterprets the traditional lantern by literally placing the light within a cage-like shell of woven black metal strands. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the light has a fiberglass shade and accommodates either a concrete or lacquered wood base.
