Mario Nanni’s n55 system with its A++ energy rating took the lighting world by storm with its ecological, flexible, and aesthetic qualities. Since then, many architects have added to collection of decorative bulbs which demonstrate the infinite possibilities of such an elegant module. Perhaps as a counterpart to the many vertical extensions that other designers have imagined, Neri&Hu takes the challenge to create a simple horizontal disc profile, featuring not either-or of the two glass finishes, clear and sandblasted, but both at the same time. The thick solid sandblasted cast glass in the center sits in contrast with the thin clear shield of the outer layer, to create a layered effect that enhances the light source in multiple ways.
